Donut Giveaway winner and it’s time for Tinsel Tuesdays!

Happy National Donut Day! I hope you’re going to have a little fun celebrating today, maybe by hanging the Donut Wreath on your front door, or sharing Donut Kebobs with the neighbors, or making a Donut Hole Cone for a classroom party. I usually announce giveaway winners at the end of a post, but not today. The winner of the Donut Giveaway is Cindy deRosier. I also have a few goodies for Barb, who correctly guessed the answer to the donut riddle. Please contact me, ladies, for prize details. Now, for the next announcement . . .

Next Tuesday will kick off the new, Tinsel Tuesday series! For a while now, I’ve featured Christmas crafts & décor during the summer. It’s not as crazy as it sounds, because many readers tell me that you’re working on Christmas crafts year round. The sooner you start, the less hectic the holidays!

It’s a really fun feature for me, too, because everyone loves Christmas crafts. I love pulling together the collection of DIY holiday crafts and decorations, and try to have something for everyone. Wreaths, snowmen, topiaries and ornaments are always a “must”, and lots of gift ideas, too. So, please join me next Tuesday, June 6, for the 2017 Tinsel Tuesday series.

In the meantime, I’m linking up past Tinsel Tuesdays below. The first Tinsel Tuesday series was in 2014, and if you click on the link or the photo, you’ll find links to the featured tutorials.

Last year, I changed it up a bit with the Summertime Snowman series. That was fun! Check out all of the snowman crafts from last year.

I think you’ll find something that you “just have to make.” I can’t claim credit for a lot of the designs I share on I’m fortunate that some wonderfully talented designers share their ideas here, too. 6. Katiria says:

Woohoo! Congrats Cindy & Barb! For summer I’m planning to try to make a dress for my toddler following a sewing pattern. I’m used to just winging it and patching things here and there. The whole sewing world is scary to me. People have been making their own clothes for years and are so talented. I’m a newbie
    Tinsel Tuesday sounds terrific! 😉

    • Sharon says:

You can do it, Katiria, and I know the dress will be adorable. If you have questions, let me know — I used to sew a lot (in another lifetime . . .) Did your daughter get to pick the fabric? Happy crafting! Sharon

      • Katiria says:

The pattern is like hieroglyphics to me. I picked a yellow satin because I’m trying to make a Belle dress. I don’t have a table big enough to lay out all the fabric so I’m on the floor a lot. She helps by stepping all over everything, playing with the measuring tape and trying to grab my scissors.

      • Sharon says:

It will be worth it in the end! She’ll be a beautiful, baby Belle and I hope you’ll share a photo. Good luck! xo, Sharon

  7. Cindy deRosier says:

  8. Brenda Ackerman says:

    • Sharon says:

Yay! Thank you, Brenda. I’m so glad you’re excited to see the Christmas crafts. And good to know that I’m not totally crazy to feature Christmas in the summertime. Happy crafting! Sharon
