Wrapping up the Birthday Bash and announcing the giveaway winners

Thank you to all who attended last week’s Birthday Bash, celebrating the 75th birthday of STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam. Today I’m announcing the winners of the birthday giveaway, and I have one last party craft to share. The Birthday Bash reminded me of an early birthday memory I have of the year my sister and I shared a castle birthday cake. It was a dream come true! So, I have a soft spot for this Fairy Tale Castle by Kathleen George. This DIY Castle Centerpiece is perfect for Princess or Knight themed birthday parties, as well as school projects, puppet shows or even a dollhouse.

Fun for parties, or school projects. I'd like to make a sparkling white Ice Castle for a Frozen party! CraftsnCoffee.com.

Fairy Tale Castle by Kathleen George.

Invite the guest of honor to help in the planning, and decorating. I think there are still lots of Frozen fans out there, and imagine turning this Fairy Tale Castle into a sparkling and snowy ice palace. You’ll find the tutorial for the Fairy Tale Castle over on StyrofoamCrafts.com.

Remember this castle cake in the old Betty Crocker Boys & Girls Cookbook? CraftsnCoffee.com

Castle cake from Betty Crocker’s Boys & Girls Cookbook.

I remember this cookbook! CraftsnCoffee.com.

Does anyone else remember this cookbook?

I have such vivid memories of our castle birthday cake, but I’ve no idea where the photos might be. But thank goodness for google. I searched and found a photo of the cake from the cookbook, along with a copy of the cookbook. Does anyone else remember Betty Crocker’s Boys and Girls Cookbook? I remember paging through it over and over again when I was a kid.

And the winners are . . .

Happy 75th Birthday Anniversary, Styrofoam! This has been an exciting week with lots of fun prizes and crafts. Congrats to Pam, Lisa, and Lorrie! I was enjoying the castles for girls. What fun! I think they could also be changed to a gray color with red accents for the guys. I can see Lego soldiers all around the castle. What a great time for a birthday! Thank you for your hard work, Sharon!

    • Sharon says:

Aww, thank you! It’s also a lot of fun to pull these posts together, Angie. Castles, cakes, parties — what’s not to love?! Happy crafting! Sharon

Love the castle. What a fun cookbook. My mom or grandma didn’t have that cookbook but several other ones that I would thumb through.
Thanks! I forgot to add there is only JoAnn’s or Michaels by me. So either is fine.

    Thanks , again!

Hi Lisa, Congratulations, and thank you. Maybe one day you’ll have a Hobby Lobby nearby, too — they are fun stores! Happy crafting! Sharon

  3. LOVE this castle! Jenna would love helping make this and she would also love playing with it afterwards! You always have such cool ideas that keep me busy!
Congratulations to the 3 lucky winners from Friday’s post!! Enjoy your goodies ladies! Have a great day and I will see you next post!

    • Sharon says:

I bet this castle would be a dream come true for Jenna! Does she enjoy working in the kitchen, too? Sharon

      • Yes! She loves to cook with me! If I am making something that I know she doesn’t like I have her help cook it and she eats it and asks for seconds!
She also cleans so I am more than happy to keep her around! LOL She is always the first to volunteer to sweep or do dishes and laundry! She takes the clothes out of the dryer for me and then brings the basket to the bedroom so I can fold them and does a pretty good job at dishes too! Hope she stays this way as she gets older!
        Have a great weekend!

      • Sharon says:

That is so cute! I hope she keeps it up . . .

Congratulations Pam B, Lisa M6 and Lorrie!!:)
I made a similar castle for my sister’s baby shower a few years ago. It was a pink princess castle. I have a picture of it somewhere on my Pinterest page. Can’t wait to learn about this fun announcement on Friday. See you then.
