Celebrating Mardi Gras with DIY decorations

Mardi Gras is next week, and here’s what’s on my craft table today. I’m wrapping up a few super-easy craft ideas for a fun Mardi Gras celebration, and I’ll share them with you tomorrow. Today I have several DIY Mardi Gras decorations from the past, along with a new (to me) Mardi Gras Ornament Wreath direct from the bayou. Let’s start with what to do with all of those Mardi Gras beads.

Ornament Wreaths aren’t just for Christmas. Ginger, who blogs at Deep Fried Kudzu made this beautiful Mardi Gras Ornament Wreath, and she’s sharing her tutorial, too. Ginger splits her time between New Orleans and Alabama, so she knows a thing or three about Mardi Gras.

I’ll see you tomorrow with more Mardi Gras inspiration! And I’ll announce the Crafts, Coffee & Chocolate giveaway winner, too. (There’s still time to enter.)

Happy crafting.

Hi Lisa, I agree — it’s fun to see these colors when you’re buried in snow! I hope you get to go to Mardi Gras someday, and in the meantime, you can have your own Mardi Gras celebration at home! Sharon
