Happy New Year, the top crafts of 2014, and “thank you” gifts

Happy New Year! I hope you finished 2014 with a flourish, and you’re refreshed and ready for a crafty & creative 2015. Today I’m sharing the top crafts from 2014 – if you missed these last year, be sure they’re on your DIY list this year. Plus, I want to say “thank you” to last year’s top commenters.

One of my favorite crafts from last year was one of your favorites, too – the DIY tutorial to make Olaf the Snowman from the movie Frozen. With the Frozen frenzy last year, it’s no surprise Olaf was one of the top crafts on Crafts ‘n Coffee in 2014.

No surprise that Olaf was one of the top projects on Crafts 'n Coffee in 2014! He looks just like Olaf from the movie Frozen, and he's made from Styrofoam brand foam. CraftsnCoffee.com.

Olaf shared the limelight with a few other snowman crafts. This collection of snowmen made from socks, stockings and sweaters was also tops in 2014. Crafts ‘n Coffee readers love snowmen crafts, and I’ve planned a few more for this year.

Another fun sweater craft! This knitting snowman is made with an old sweater. Fun idea. CraftsnCoffee.com.

Here was another favorite craft – the Red & White Deco Mesh Topiary. I’m scheming ways to turn this into a Valentine’s Day topiary, and I’ll see if I can get it done in time to share with you.

So pretty for Christmas. The tutorial to make this Deco Mesh Christmas Topiary is on CraftsnCoffee.com.
This next one is a life saver for a lot of moms – how to make a Solar System.

How to make a Solar System Poster using balls of STYROFOAM. Save this one for school! At some point, every student has to make a model of the Solar System.

Do you have a favorite craft from 2014 that’s not on the list? Please let me know. Your feedback is a huge help as I plan the year ahead. Tell me what you want to see on Crafts ‘n Coffee!

I want to say “thank you” to those Crafts ‘n Coffee readers who share so much, and leave frequent comments. I love hearing from you, and I’m so glad you’re here. Barb Macaskill, LisaM6, Katiria and Angie Dyer were the top four commenters in 2014, and ladies, I’m going to send you each a subscription to Craft Ideas magazine! Please contact me with your mailing address so I can arrange for your subscription. Enjoy, and happy crafting.

A sneak peek of the winter wreath I’ll share later this week.

I have lots of fresh ideas ready to share with you, and I’ll be back with a new winter wreath later this week. Till then, I hope to hear from you about what you’d like to see on Crafts ‘n Coffee this year.

Happy 2015 and happy crafting!

I loved the Deco Mesh Christmas Topiary idea. Unfortunately, so would my nine cats. Your Olaf is amazing, and I’m pretty sure my cats wouldn’t try to eat him.

I always love reading your comments, Lisa, and I appreciate your feedback. I do a small bit of the creating around here, but really, most kudos go to the very talented designers I work with, like Kathleen, Rebekah and Patty. Many thanks to them, too. I hope you have a wonderful 2015! Sharon

Those crafts are all on my list of favorites. Who doesn’t love a good snowman craft?

I know, a cute snowman craft is irresistible! Especially if you’re closer to the beach than the snow, right? I wish you and your family a very happy New Year, and thank you for following. Sharon
