While pulling together Tuesday’s post about natural wedding decorations, I found myself collecting another stash of projects to share. This second collection of beautiful DIY wedding decorations has one thing in common – paper. So today I’m sharing pretty wedding decorations made with paper. And here’s where the penny pinching comes in – these pretty papers are usually pretty darn inexpensive. If you’re planning a wedding, you know that every penny counts! Click through for tutorials for each project.
This pretty Pretty Paper Cake Centerpiece appeared on Crafts ‘n Coffee last year, and this is where the giveaway comes in. I’m told this paper ribbon is hard to find and might not even be available any more. You can make your own paper ribbon using paper punches or an electronic cutter, or you could easily substitute fabric ribbon for the paper ribbon. Or, you can enter today’s giveaway for your chance at winning one of two rolls of the paper ribbon that I just happen to have! (More on the giveaway later . . .)
Here’s another “recipe” for a paper wedding cake – a sweet Pink & White Wedding Cake Centerpiece.
And one more less traditional version – the Showered with Joy Centerpiece Cake. Pre-made embellishments make it easy to decorate.
You can make these Showered with Joy Candlesticks to match the Showered with Joy Centerpiece Cake, or to simply display on their own.
Pretty as a Package Topiary is all wrapped up in gift wrap. There’s no need to collect just the right size boxes, because these “packages” are cut from sheets of STYROFOAM Brand Foam. This gives you the flexibility to make the topiary as large or as small as you like, and it’s easier to craft multiples, too.
Picture these Hearts & Flowers Arrangements covered in your favorite scrapbook papers and topped with silk flowers to match the bride’s bouquet.
The Bridal Handbag Centerpieces are dressed up with “crystal” handles, and I think they are perfect for so many special occasions.
The Lavender Bridal Place Card Holders coordinate with the Bridal Handbag Centerpiece, but you can coordinate them with any of these designs by changing the papers.
And finally, here’s an idea that really “rocks”, as in one enormous, Super-Bling Diamond Ring! This was on Crafts ‘n Coffee last year, too, but I just love it and I’m showing it again. This is a really fun idea for a bridal shower, don’t you think?
Now, I just happen to have two rolls of this very-hard-to-find paper ribbon in my stash. One is white, one is metallic gold, and each roll is 15 feet long. You can see how easy it is to make beautiful wedding crafts with this ribbon – just unroll and wrap. If you’d like to win one of the rolls, invite your craft-loving friends to follow Crafts ‘n Coffee and Facebook, and then leave a message below and tell me who you’ve invited. You have until midnight on Thursday, 5/24, to leave a comment. The first name I draw will get to choose white or gold; and the second name I draw will receive the remaining roll. And of course I’ll send each winner one of our craft aprons.
Thank you for stopping in today, and for inviting your friends to join us, too.
