Alas, this is our last summer boredom buster craft – and it’s a fun one! Our Rockin’ Robots are an exercise in creativity and repurposing – put the kids in charge of gathering materials they can use to “wire up” their robots – old watches, beads, bottle caps, or whatever little trinkets they’ve stashed away, can all be used to “activate” their contraptions.
Watch our video first for the basics, and then leave the details (and creativity) to the kids. They’ll explain how the coiled wire communicates with the mother ship, and the bottle cap laser gun blasts the bad guys. And the watch face? Why, it computes all math homework, of course!
We also have step-by-step instructions for our four Rockin’ Robots. Click on each photo below for the step-by-step instructions on http://styrofoamcrafts.com.
And to wrap up our last Summer Craft Boredom Buster, we have a giveaway. You can win our Solar System kit, and all of the Apple Barrel paints you need to paint it from Plaid. For your chance to win, refer a friend to our Facebook page, and ask them to leave a comment, telling us who referred them. The more friends you refer, the more chances you have to win!
I look forward to meeting your friends!
UPDATE on our winners: Congratulations to Donna Hart Brown and Cherry Fore Hart. Please use the “Contact Us” tab at the top of this page to contact me. Thank you.
