An all-star cast of movie star crafts

It occurred to me recently that we have quite a few movie stars on Crafts ‘n Coffee. From a tutorial to make Olaf the Snowman from Frozen, to the Minions, I thought I’d stage a little revue of the stars here on Crafts ‘n Coffee. I’ll start with one of my favorites – Olaf the Snowman. If you’ve been on Pinterest lately, you know that there are endless ideas for Frozen birthday parties, Frozen bedroom themes, Frozen dress-up ideas, etc. If you have a Frozen fan in your household, here’s how to make your own adorable Olaf the Snowman.

I love this little guy from the movie Frozen. Tutorial for Olaf on CraftsnCoffee.com.

Doesn’t he make you smile?

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is another recent release, and the tutorial to make this Flying Dragon Marionette is over on StyrofoamCrafts.com.

Despicable Me 2

Another favorite of mine are the Minions from Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2. These are made with easy-to-use Crayola Model Magic, so the kids can make their own.

 Monsters University

Did you see Monsters University? Kathleen George made her own version of Monster Mike Wazowski. You could use Kathleen’s techniques to make your favorite monster from Monsters University.

Here's how you can DIY your own Monster Mike from the movie Monsters University.

Why not have the kids make a classroom of monsters, using their creativity and materials from your craft stash.

Did you see any good movies this summer? Are there any other movie stars we should try to craft from STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam? I saw Maleficent recently and really enjoyed it, but I’m not sure Angelina Jolie’s character is one we can easily craft!

Happy Hollywood crafting.

  3. I think making the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters would be pretty cool! Or, the Pillsbury Dough Boy/

Fun ideas! I remember the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and I should watch that movie again, it’s been eons since I saw it. I bet we could fashion these from foam! Thank you! Sharon

Olaf is my favorite. Will have to pull the movie out and watch while I do laundry. Too cute. The minions are adorable too. Great tuts.

We absolutely loved the new Transformers movie. Nothing makes a boys day like smashing robots.

    • Sharon says:

:-) Smashing robots, he, he! I will have to poke around for a picture of the Transformers — I wonder if we could make them? Hmm . . . Thanks for the suggestion. (And how are you doing???) Sharon
