Yikes, we’re five weeks away from Christmas, and I feel like I’m already behind. However, I need to clear away the Thanksgiving dishes before I’m in the mood for jingle bells. But I know that a lot of Crafts ‘n Coffee readers are already elbow deep in Christmas crafting, so today I’m going to share the favorite handmade Christmas ornaments, Christmas wreaths and ornaments that kids can make from 2011. Here we go . . .
(Each photo will whisk you away to the tutorials.)
Christmas crafts for kids: Top 10 ornaments for kids
One dozen pretty paper ornaments
Four fast & fun Christmas wreaths
I’m happy to announce that random.org selected Pillows-a-la-Mode as the winner of last week’s giveaway of a gift pack of three Christmas crafting magazines and a 12” STAK Tree. Congratulations! Please contact me, Pillows-a-la-Mode, for the details.
It’s time to put on the Christmas spirit at Crafts ‘n Coffee, and I’m going to celebrate the season with a giveaway each week till Christmas – woot! This week, I’m giving away a fun kid’s Christmas craft pack:

You might win these three Christmas craft magazines. They’re not from this year, but they are still loaded with must-make Christmas inspiration.
- A subscription to the new kids’ craft magazine, Kids Crafts 1-2-3. Have you seen this new craft magazine for kids? You’ll find it in your local Wal-Mart. It’s packed with easy and inexpensive ideas that crafty kids are going to love.
- Three holiday craft magazines – Better Homes & Gardens Holiday Crafts, Family Fun Christmas, and an issue of Pack-o-Fun, packed with more than 50 holiday projects (this one is really special – you can’t buy this magazine any more.) Like last week, these aren’t current year issues, but they’re still awesome.
If you’d like to win a subscription to Kids Crafts 1-2-3, and these three issues of holiday craft magazines, tell me when you start your Christmas crafting. Do you wait till after thanksgiving? Or, did you start way back in January?
Happy Friday and happy crafting!

we gather ideas all year long, and start laying in supplies after halloween then do as we can tip christmas , we’re buying a house sometime lob, so we’ll probably wait tip the move, ick, is done this year but we are getting an extra bedroom just for crafting – I can’t wait! hte storage space alone is blowing my mind!
Good luck with the new house, and have fun in your new craft room! Sounds like trouble to me! Enjoy and happy new year! Sharon
I love all crafts but with RA I am sometimes restricted to what I can do.my hands often refuse to co operate. I have craftef and taught craft classes for years. I love making old into new and loved items again.
thia year was a first for me !!! I started before Thanksgiving !!!
I read on another blog about “bracelet purses”…and I’ve started making them for my Granddaughter…I’m making enough where she can share with her Best Friend…mkg
“Bracelet purses” are new to me, but they sound like a great idea — something most of us could use, perhaps. I’m sure your granddaughter and BFF will love them!
They are small but can hold the “necessities”…and when shopping you just put on your wrist…I will be doing a blog on them later…
Thanks for the info, Marilyn. My goodness, everyone could use a bracelet purse! Sharon
Wasn’t my idea…but, too cute…

I start as soon as I see a cool idea on Pinterest during the year. If I wait until the last minute, then there is always something that gets in the way of me getting everything accomplished on my list. I love craftsncoffee for great ideas.
Aww, thanks, Beth. So glad you find the blog a source of inspiration! Sharon
Well, I hope to get started some time in December. At the moment, I have quite a few other things to take care of (hence the absence here, too). Nonetheless, Sharon, I enjoy checking your new posts — a big thanks for the inspiration.
When ever I see a crat that speaks a present for someone & I start it them.
like most others I wait until after Thanksgiving to start, but this year the cradting with be different, as I will be doing them with a 2 and 7 year old boys .. how fun !! These books would be perfect for us to use !!
Thanks for blogging !!
Peace on earth ..
We actually do crafting all year around. We will purchase Christmas paper, embellishment, ribbons right after Christmas on sale. We start Christmas crafting in July because we are a Community Project Club and we donate liitle giveaways to various group and sell others at Craft Shows. Currently we are making Christmas 100 Christmas boxes for the residents of Trinity Services Homes (for physically challenged residents) in our town to be delivered December 21.
I like to start right after Thanksgiving, but then again, if I am able to do something throughout the year I will try to do a little here and there. Like the other lady, it depends on my physical ability as well.
Hello, Sharon,
I usually start Christmas crafting in August/September. Our Church has a Holly Fair usually in November so I need to get a head start. I enjoy collecting ideas throughout the year and cannot wait to start the projects.
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving,
Jane
Thank you Sharon.
I started making advent calendars waaaay back in October, but usually i start around mid November
I start crafting immediately after Thanksgiving, but I start gathering my ideas WELL before!!!
I try to start crafting early fall but that never really pans out. We’ve started on some little ornaments and glitter cardboard houses this past weekend
Usually I start thinking Christmas crafting after Halloween, or when the weather starts getting nippy. I want to stay indoors and craft up a storm!
I start like the first of December. I love crafting with my boys. I also am a preschool teacher and love to do crafts with them. Love all the ideas!! <3
We start about the middle of summer. Then by the time December gets here we have most of it done.
i love to craft year round and love making ornaments for all.
No! I’d never get it done if I waited till after Thanksgiving! I’ve been pinning ideas & mentally getting ready since before Halloween & I actually started last night. I have a couple of ideas for wreaths I want to make right now & I want to make some decorated tree forms for the mantle & some ornaments… I better get cracking!!!
I started as soon as Halloween was over, my grandkids are old enough to do crafts so we did a lot of halloween. Now they are out of school for Thanksgiving, we will do a few Thanksgiving crafts and lots of Christmas.
I never know when I’m going to start my Christmas crafting. It all depends on my physical ability. Thank you.
It’s great to hear from you, Violet. I’m glad you were up for stopping in today, and I hope you’re well enough to have a crafty Christmas. Sharon
I still wait till after Dec 1st to start my Christmas crafts because that’s my son’s birthday and I’m usually tied up with his birthday decorations.
Love the map bauble. might use that idea for my romantic advent, decorate a bauble for the tree together
Thanks.
I start the day after Thanksgiving. We put up the trees and start crafting.
I was taking a closer look at all these amazing ornaments and then saw my name . . . what a WONDERFUL surprise!!! Thank you . . . that made my day!
Talk soon!
I begin somewhere between! I usually long for Christmas once the nasty heat of summer starts to consume me. Fortunately, most Craft & Scrapbooking stores cater to Christmas Lovers about the same time!
It sounds like you’re happy to see the “Christmas in July” displays in the stores, and the cool thoughts they bring. Thanks for stopping in today. Sharon
