Cinderella had a little magic going on with her pumpkin, and frankly, I think Kathleen George worked a little magic with this mosaic pumpkin, too. Kathleen’s Terra Cotta Mosaic Pumpkin is perfect for fall decorating. It’s beautiful indoors, of course, and you can safely display it outside, too. It’s made with a ball of STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam, so it’s weather safe and won’t be affected by rain or snow (yikes, did I just say “snow”?). Mosaics can get pretty heavy, too, and the foam ball offers a lot of support and a stiff surface that won’t flex like a foam pumpkin.
In the tutorial, Kathleen will walk you through how to shape your foam ball into a pumpkin. Then, she explains how to safely break up your terra cotta pots. This is a great way to repurpose those old, chipped and mismatched terra cotta pots and saucers you might have stashed away.
I’ve shared quite a few mosaic projects this summer, and if you’re looking for a little more mosaic inspiration, you’ll find it here:
How’s the summer been where you are? Are you looking forward to fall? I know I am!
