I have a question for you all, too. I have a lot of giveaways on Crafts ‘n Coffee, but oftentimes, people don’t claim their prizes. I’m not sure why this is, and I’m wondering if you have any suggestions for me. I typically announce the winner in the post following the contest cut-off deadline, but perhaps that’s not enough? Should I go back and list the winner in the giveaway post? Or, do people enter and forget to check back? I want happy readers, so I welcome any suggestions you might have.
See you again on Friday, with some fabulous, money-saving ideas for decorating your home.
Happy crafting!

I know this would be labour intensive for you, but perhaps sending emails to the winners would help them remember. As for myself, I enter a lot of contest and often forget that I have.
Thanks, Mary Lou. I’m trying that this time around and I hope to hear from everyone very soon. Sharon
Congratulations to all the winners
ColleenB.
Hi Sharon,
Like the others have said, winners don’t check back to see if they’ve won. If they don’t subscribe to your blog via email or RSS Feeds, there’s no way for them to know, other than a personal email.
Thank you for hosting these great contests. I am so excited that I won the Plaid paints! I sent you my contact info. Thanks so much!!
Lisa
Congrats to the lucky winners!
Sharon, lots of people take part in different giveaways and don’t actually check back to see if they have won. They expect to get a personal email to tell them that they won. When I have a giveaway on my blog, I usually sent out such an email, but I don’t expect you to do that considering the amount of giveaways you organize (and a big thanks for that on this occasion!). Personally, I don’t think it would make sense to post a winner in an old post — it’s definitely okay how you do it right now.
By the way, I think it’s awesome that you often take time to reply to people’s comments, but I doubt that many people check back to read that comment if they don’t happen to subscribe to that particular post/the comments on that post. Since I know that you do that, I usually go back and see if you happened to reply to my comment, but, well, I doubt that many readers do that.
Have a great Tuesday,
Birgit
Thank you for the feedback, Birgit. I really do appreciate my readers and their comments, so keep ‘em coming! Happy Tuesday to you, too. Sharon
Hi Sharon, I would imagine that most people forget to check back. I know that often when I enter a giveaway on a blog it usually asks for my email address so I enter and don’t think about it again. I don’t remember if your giveaways ask for that info or not but that might explain why!
I enjoy reading your blog…thanks for all the inspiration!
Thank you! That’s so nice to hear. Sharon
I sometimes forget that I have entered a contest or forget that I have to respond by a certain time frame. There’s just too much to do in a day LOL
So true, Katiria. Thanks for making the time for Crafts ‘n Coffee! Sharon
