Have you ever made Pineapple Ornaments? Or perhaps you call them Pinecone Ornaments? I’ve seen them called by both names, and I think the only difference between the two is how you hang them. When you hang the ornament with the points facing down, it resembles a pinecone. With the points facing up, it looks somewhat like a pineapple (or an artichoke). No matter which name you use, they are a holiday classic and one of the most popular ways to make a Christmas ornament.
To make a Pineapple or Pinecone Ornament, you fold strips of fabric, ribbon, seam binding or paper into points, and then pin the points to an egg or ball of STYROFOAM brand foam. Candie Cooper demonstrates the technique on the video “5 Ornaments in 5 Minutes.” StyrofoamCrafts.com shows several styles, too, including a variation made with small cones to look like Christmas trees. So, watch the video, and then click on your favorite photo below. The photos link directly to the project instructions on StyrofoamCrafts.com.

Pin your points on a small cone and you've made a miniature Christmas tree. Kathleen George topped these with golden stars and used a wood dowel for the trunks.
Happy Christmas crafting!

Such great ideas!
Thanks for stopping in, Honey.
Hey Sharon… I enjoy all the eye candy you put on your blog!

Thanks, Holly. We have something for everyone. Check out our fabric ornaments.
Thanks for the chance to win a craft gift card on Under the Table and Dreaming. I didn’t have a styrofoam Christmas craft on hand, but I did have the Creepy Crawly Pumpkin Topiary I made for Halloween. I really like working with styrofoam – it’s so easy to use and you can do so much with it.
Hi, Noreen, and thank you for joining us. I saw your cute Creepy Crawly Pumpkin Topiary and I thank you so much for posting it. Happy crafting!
WOW! More wonderful ornaments. Love these too. I can’t wait for my 2 shows to be done so I can play and make all the wonderful ornaments you have shown.
So glad we’ve provided you with inspiration, Lisa. we plan to keep the ideas coming all through the holiday season. Good luck with your shows!
Sharon, you have got some great ideas here!
Thanks, Eileen. Christmas is all about the crafts!
